Fourth Quarter 2020
- U.S. retail e-commerce sales for the fourth quarter of 2020, adjusted for seasonal variation, but not for price changes, was $206.5 billion, a decrease of 1.2 percent (±0.7%) from the third quarter of 2020.
- The fourth quarter 2020 e-commerce estimate increased 32.1 percent (±2.1%) from the fourth quarter of 2019 while total retail sales increased 6.9 percent (±0.5%) in the same period.
- E- commerce sales in the fourth quarter of 2020 accounted for 14 percent of total retail sales.
Full Year 2020
- Total e-Commerce sales for 2020 were estimated at $791.1 billion, an increase of 32.4% (±1.8%) from 2019.
- Total retail sales in 2020 increased 3.4% (±0.4%) from 2019.
- E-commerce sales in 2020 accounted for 14% of total retail sales vs. 11% in 2019.
